The Squidoo Lens called Dofollow is one of the best resources I have found for a list of a variety of sites that will provide dofollow links.

Many of the sites listed are places where you can put your content. I like to use content on sites like mentioned here because they often have the ability to get found and send traffic by themselves. When I do that I want links too.

Checking my backlinks I recently discovered Articlebase is nofollow. So why waste time posting there when many other high PR article directories are readily available.

I like some of the other sites like vox.com too. I use them much like article directories.  I recently posted What is Link Spamming there.

There are 2 quick tricks to think about when you do use what some call “satellite blogs”

  1. Build a few links to those pages, some bookmarking and drop the feed into your RSS Directories at least. I use onlywire for bookmarking because I can run it to several bookmarks right away.
  2. Write in a way to entice the reader to want to learn more by visiting your blog or site. Have a call to action, offer some additional related resource.

Sounds like we have a lot in common. I am a huge fan of dofollow sites. I use RSS feeds to throw easy links at my content all over the place. I also use Onlywire as a way to semi-automate the process of bookmarking things that I want to. I have told countless people that it really doesn’t make much sense to use nofollow anymore now that Google made them bleed PageRank.

Indeed that Squidoo link is a good resource, I found it too some time ago.
As a Dofollow Directory, Froslo can be added too.

Backlinking is a great strategy…unless you go overboard.  Don't do more than a couple links per day, otherwise you might end up in the sandbox…

I think you can do a few more than a couple a day, that is if you have time. A consistant link building effort wins over time.
