It could drive you nuts going to every city Craigslist might have a new posting in Gigs of someone looking for SEO. These are not the best leads because there is a large amount of competition replying to these ads. If I can get them on the phone I have a shot. I have gotten some cleints on Craigslist but it hardly works well enough to be a primary source.
In order to not waste too much time there I do this search in Google site:craigslist.org/cpg seo then switch it to show the last week in the options section. Sometimes the results are too low so I just go with site:craigslist.org seo though I have more unrelated to filter with my brain it gets a lot more results. The results are better than reading the page at Craigslist because you also see the first part of the text of the ad itself so can pass on the ones that want programming skills you may not have. Works like a charm.
