just go to http://www.tynt.com/ and get a free script that will add a link to any ocntent someone copies from your website to their website. You can track this stuff too. Pretty cool.

I found this out because I was running the Friefox plugin Ghostery that will show a list of scripts running on any site you are at. I saw tynt and checked it out. http://www.ghostery.com/

Just found a really neat tool that will show you how much you could be making for a particular position in Google for a particular keyword. This free tool will give a pretty close to real world estimate.

The Click Distribution Tool at BestRank should be very useful to determine how much you could be making for a particular position in Google. The link is to a video that shows you how it works. You really should watch this 6 min video because this is a pretty sophisticated tool.

This tool can also show you if a particular keyword phrase is worth ranking for or not. It provides you a good idea of what the position will be worth. Like a keyword tool there is some variation. If you have real world data from logs or an adwords account you can be a little more precise. If you are planning to focus your effort on a certain keyword or phrase it may be worth your time to see how valuable it could be.

DoFollow Amplify.com For Ranking, Link Building and Socialization

This Amplify.com clip http://warnercarter.amplify.com/2009/10/13/seo-manefesto/ I did for the post SEO Manefesto (misspelled, oops) is #3 for that search and the twitter tweet of that amplify page is #8, and one of the tags I used, link building is #9. For the correct spelling of the word Manifesto it is #4.

The way it works is you clip parts of anything you find then also make a commentary about what you clipped. This kind of describes how one of Dan Theis’ “Leverage Engines, the “Index Driver” functions. (A Link to Dan’s free blueprint report)

I set up my Amplify to automatically post the title to Facebook, Twitter, Tubmlr, Delicious, and Diigo. If I wanted to I could drop a link into Ping.fm and send it out to an additional set of links (though a few would be duplicated) I could see this as a possibly useful tactic for doing reviews of things that have my affiliate link. Guess if I did that I would have to add the disclaimer. I am so glad the Government knows I am too stupid to read a review and not consider the person writing it could be getting paid. I will have to call them next time I can’t find my car in a big parking lot.

I also like how the Amplify page shows a link to my listing in http://wefollow.com.

On Wefollow you can list your twitter acct with 5 related tags and you can also search tags and find people who use that tag for themselves, (this can be really useful to find people in your niche to follow) even obscure long tail niche targeting tags.

Effects Of Google Alerts On New Requests

I just created a new Google Alert for “warnercarter” (me) and within a few minutes a new alert for that request was in my email. One listing was for a twitter post done yesterday and 2 more were about a few months old.

So the question arises, did Google go find something just because I started a new alert? It seems so. Does this mean if I just made a new web site or page and if I then made a alert for it would it get indexed faster? I don’t have a new website handy this minute but just to see what happens, as soon as I post this I am going to create an alert for the title.

It took Google about 30 minutes to send me a Google Alert I made for the title of this post

Some time ago someone (sorry I don’t recall who) said they had seen Google indexing obscure long tail phrases after they searched them and initially found nothing.

Will appreciate your observations.
